This focused page explains platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for hair restoration at DRFK Dubai: who benefits, how sessions are structured, and how PRP fits with mesotherapy and medical therapy. It complements our main Hair Loss Treatment hub, not a substitute for full medical assessment. Trichoscopy and blood-medicine review are part of safe selection.

DRFK Turkish Medical Center is located at Villa 2, Al Athar Street, Jumeirah 3, Dubai. The clinic is easily accessible from Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, Al Safa, Business Bay, and Downtown Dubai within around 15 minutes via Sheikh Zayed Road, with on-site parking available.
Dubai’s climate, water quality, and lifestyle stress can worsen shedding. We combine PRP with a clear plan: diagnosis of pattern and trigger, targeted scalp delivery, and measurable follow-up photos. Same-day processing of your own blood limits allergy risk compared to foreign proteins.
Most plans use 3–4 monthly loading visits, then maintenance every 4–6 months depending on response. If you travel frequently, we batch windows to stay on track without “drift” in your protocol.
PRP cannot create brand-new follicles on slick bald skin. It is strongest in early thinning. If density is too low, we discuss hair transplant timing and combination strategies openly, not after months of unrealistic expectations.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) hair treatment is a biological hair regrowth therapy, using the patient's own blood, centrifuged to concentrate the platelet-rich fraction (5–8× normal platelet count), and injected into the scalp dermis. Platelets contain alpha granules loaded with growth factors, PDGF, VEGF, EGF, TGF-β, and IGF-1, that stimulate follicular stem cell proliferation, prolong the anagen (growth) phase, promote angiogenesis, reduce DHT-mediated follicle miniaturisation, and activate dormant telogen-phase follicles.
A small blood sample (20–30ml) is taken from a peripheral vein and placed in a specialised PRP tube. Centrifuged at calibrated speed, separating red blood cells (bottom), platelet-poor plasma (top), and platelet-rich plasma (middle buffy coat). PRP fraction extracted at 5–8× platelet concentration. Low-concentration PRP (2–3×) produces minimal clinical effect; DRFK uses a validated protocol producing 5–8×, the evidence-based range associated with measurable outcomes.
| Timeline | Expected Outcome |
|---|---|
| Weeks 4–8 | Reduced hair shedding, most immediate and consistently reported early response |
| Months 3–4 | Improved hair shaft diameter and thickness |
| Month 6 | Measurable hair density improvement on trichoscopy |
| Duration per course | 6–12 months; maintenance from Month 6–12 |
Map miniaturisation and rule out scarring alopecia red flags.
Iron, thyroid, vitamin D and other drivers of telogen effluvium.
Sterile double-spin protocol; activator per SOP.
Thinning band and vertex as planned; optional meso add-on.
Wash timing, sun/heat, gym, and flight advice for 48–72h.
Compare baseline at 8–12 weeks before the next block.
Hydrate well the day before your session
